The Beginning of His Craft

Over a decade ago, in a modest silver workshop tucked away in the winding alleys of Hoi An, Hien, Tran first dipped his hands into molten silver. His journey didn’t begin in a classroom—it began with fire, instinct, and the legacy of generations before him.

He learned by doing. Watching. Listening to the rhythm of hammers tapping silver, the hush of a torch melting metal, the silence that followed a perfect curve. Each day, he shaped silver. And each day, it shaped him.

“Silver is a living thing,” he reflects. “If you rush it, it fights back. If you listen, it becomes anything you want.”

His Signature Style

Hien’s work is instantly recognizable—marked by gentle textures, organic symmetry, and subtle movements that echo the rhythms of nature. His hands are behind some of our most beloved pieces, especially those in our Nature’s Whisper, Gemstone Ring, and Stacking Band collections.

His signature touches include:

  • Smooth curves that mimic the form of river stones

  • Lightly oxidized textures that give a sense of age and wisdom

  • Stone settings that appear to “grow” from the band—like vines or roots

When he works, there is no rush. Only presence. Only the bond between hand and metal.

A Message from the Maker

“I want people to feel the story in each piece. I want them to look down at a ring on their finger and think: someone made this just for me—with real tools, real hands, and real love.”

That is how Hien sees silver—not as material, but as memory. A living archive of craftsmanship, emotion, and quiet care.

Where Heritage Meets Craft

Inside The Ancient House, where whispers of the past echo off wooden beams and tiled roofs, you’ll find Hung, Pham—quietly shaping the soul of silver.

With 17 years of experience, Hung is a foundational figure in the Argenté family. His hands don’t rush. They remember. They build. They balance.
At his bench, silver takes its first breath—from raw, untamed metal to wearable beauty.

“It must feel right in the hand before it belongs to anyone else,” he says, eyes never leaving the flame.

His Signature Craft

Hung is not the final flourish. He is the beginning.
His specialty is precision base work, where structure, weight, and balance are defined—an essential first step in handcrafted jewelry.

What sets his work apart:

  • Meticulous soldering using open flame, without machinery

  • Forming thick silver bands for statement rings and signets

  • Building strong pendant frames that can later be carved, engraved, or adorned

  • Relying solely on manual shaping techniques passed down by master makers

Every piece he touches becomes stronger in form—and richer in soul.

A Presence in the House

Hung doesn’t seek attention. But visitors to The Ancient House are often drawn to his focused rhythm—the subtle tap of tools, the steady flicker of fire, the way time seems to slow around him.

He may not speak often, but each movement of his hand says:

“This is silver, as it was meant to be—pure, personal, and made by people.”

Why Our Makers Matter

At Argenté, we do not hide our hands. We celebrate them.

Our artisans are not hidden behind machines or factories. They sit in open spaces, in old houses and family workshops, shaping silver that carries stories. You see the maker. You feel the making.

And when you wear it, you carry both.
